Songs of My Family
On Saturday March 13, 2010 we’ll be performing a very important work in the evolution of the gay/lesbian choral movement, This House Shall Stand: Songs Of My Family. This piece speaks directly to the issues confronting us as we all try to live our lives and form families of our own.
This 45 minute song cycle was commissioned by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington from composer Robert Seeley and lyricist Robert Espindola. Its beautiful melodies, captivating harmonies, and moving texts combine to tell the stories of all of our families. Everyone will find themselves reflected on this truly watershed work.
